I received the error "Column 10 exceeds the valid column length" when uploading additional pay - what does this mean?

The first column for the employee identifier has a maximum character length of ten characters. This error is commonly seen when using Employee SSN as an identifier, and including the hyphens. All hyphens must be removed from the file in order to proceed with your import.
